Let’s be honest. Your day starts with your morning. And your morning sets you up for success. Ever woken up on the wrong side of the bed only to have it last all day long? I’ve had those days where you’ve barely slept, you’re rushing around, the Keurig breaks, and then you get shit on by a bird on your way to Starbucks. Doesn’t even matter if the outfit is *new.* By the time you’re at the office, you’re ready to have a full on meltdown.
Yep. You feel me. MORNINGS. ARE. EVERYTHING. And considering none of us go into offices now, I’m guessing people’s routines have been rocked. So let us help you.
Here is my personal routine (pre quarantine… that I’ve continued to crush during lockdown):
I wake up around 7:30 a.m. I’d love to pretend to be an early riser, but it’s not realistic — especially when I’ve been DJing the night before (when that was allowed).
I put on the coffee, brush my teeth, take my vitamins and probiotics and force myself to drink a whole bottle of water. Lately, I’ve been subbing aloe water. May be something to consider if you have tummy issues. More on that here.
I sit down to meditate and pop on my headphones. Pro tip: on-ear headphones really help take you deeper into your practice (especially if you’re ADD like me). I listen to different types of meditations, which I pick based on my mood and what I need to achieve that day. If I have a big performance, I might visualize my day and the success of the event, for instance. If I need some inspiration on a project or problem, I might do an open meditation with instrumental music in the background and ask for answers. Sidebar: right now, I am doing Gabby Bernstein’s 21 day meditation challenge.
Next, when I’m clear-headed, I review my schedule for the day against my goals and make any necessary adjustments to use my day in the best possible way. Then, I start emails and sip my coffee. But first, I sprinkle in some MCT oil for clarity and focus.
Around 9 a.m., I head out to walk the pup and put on one of my favorite podcasts (BossBabe, Masters of Scale, Impact Theory, How I Built This, etc.). Our new morning show is launching on June 3rd so stay tuned!
Around 9:30 a.m., I hit the gym (sub: virtual work out at the moment). If I only have 30 minutes, I’ll just ride the elliptical to an upbeat playlist or do a quick yoga flow. Here are some good working out vibes to rock to. Then, I get ready for the rest of my day, which may or may not include make up ;).

This article is a source of inspiration for me, it helps me a lot
in sleep problems. I also used this Rain Sounds https://youtu.be/uSxflHAxweE to fall asleep easily.
Thanks, keep it up!
